Bookmakers Closed In The Uk Due To A Pandemic
Responding to the announcement of the government of great britain on further restrictions of covid-19 from december 2020, michael duger, general director of the betting and gambling council (uk the betting and gamong council) commented:
"We fully support the determination of the government of great britain and autonomous administrations to deal with the spread of covid-19 and protect the health of the population. Announcement of the government of great britain means that the bookmakers in england, as part of a small retail trade, unfortunately, closed in level 4 zones ".
"Unfortunately, the bookmakers in wales also closed in the framework of the total insulation of the country, while shops in mainland scotland and northern ireland are closed from the day of gifts (t.E. December 26, 2020) ".
"This is disappointing news for our employees and customers, but we hope that we can safely open again in the near future".
"The good news is that, unlike full insulation in the spring of 2020, there are many sports, including races that people can enjoy on tv on holidays".
