Dutch Players Warned About The Illegitivity Of Lotteries On Facebook

Dutch gambling regulator kansspelautoriteit (ksa) warned consumers from partipating in lottery draws on facebook and emphasized their illegality.

According to the ksa statement, the lotteries appeared in which the player pays for the right to play in order to end up win money or another prize. The acquisition of this right is carried out through internet banking with operators who are based both in the netherlands and in other countries.

The application was made after the chairman of ksa rena jansen called on operators who consider the opportunity to obtain a license, to be responsible for their activities, specifying that the regulator leads «strict but fair» supervision of the sector.
