Ignoring The Legalization Of Gambling Business Costs Ukraine In Billions

Ignoring problems of gambling business in ukraine leads to the loss of billions of hryvnia as sector deductions in the state budget of the country. The key problem is currently the separation of legitimate state lotteries from the illegal sector.

Experts of the center for economic strategy (cet) presented the results of the study «how much budget of ukraine loses worth of the rule of law».

«If we assume that after the gambling business was banned, the volume of the illegal market grew together with the growth of gdp and changes in the consumption structure… Then will get from 4 to 10 billion hryvnia lost taxes from gambling busines», – noted repko.

Experts believe that one of the shadow gambling business is prevaailing in ukraine, and not legal lotteries, there may be an erroneous tax policy. In 2015, many later introducing a ban on gambling business, additional taxes were introduced for winnings, which, in their opinion and contributed to the shadines of the sector.

Maria repko also believees that the first task for the state at the present stage is to distinguish between legitimate lotteries and illegal gambling business. Depeutor of the cec also believees that regulation should be specialized.
