Igorny Companies Have Not Yet Agreed To Prohibit Advertising On Television
Companies present in the gambling market have not yet agreed to complete advertising during broadcasts live, despite reports in the media, in which it is argued that such an agreement has been reached.
Earlier it was reported that members of the association of remote gambling (rga), including many industry leaders, agreed to a voluntary ban on advertising their services during sports broadcasts.
Last month, the rga board of directors discussed the introduction of new voluntary restrictions on television advertising, but rga ceo clive hawkwood later stated «bbc is mistaken. At the moment, no arrangements have been achieved».
The problem is that the bbc announcement was distributed by several major media in the uk, which caused a light panic among the players. Shares william hill decreased by 3.6%, gvc holdings – 4.5%, playtech – 3%, and paddy power betfair – on 2%. Shares of large british broadcasters also slightly fell in price.
Campaign for fairer gambling, a representative of campaign for fairer gambling, stated not only the rules for advertising on television, but also the rules for the placement of digital advertising.
Recall that the recent gambleaware report testified that the four fifth of all gambling marketing comes to the internet and only 15% – on television.
