In Spain, A Commission Was Created To Combat Sports Manipulation

According to the commission will develop mechanisms, tools and recommendations regarding the decision, prevention and control of illegal actions in the field of sports events and fraud in sports betting.

The commission will include representatives of the gambling regulator of spain (dgoj), the national police, the higher sports council. In addition, participants will be representatives of the betting sector and persons relating to the organization of sports.

Commission will lead the heads of dgoj and the general sports directorate (dgs). The president of the organization will be appointed annually.

The main task of the commission will be the development of a new system for the prevention of fraud in sports in the early stages.

Representatives of the administration say that fraud related to sports betting operations and organization of contractual matches is extreme destructively reflected in sports, and threatens the pleasure of fans from viewing. To minimize such negative manifestations, the government has created a special centralized body, which is designed to establish cooperation between various government departments, organizers of sports competitions and representatives of the betting industry.

In june, the gambling regulator published a three-year strategy that involves the provision of socially responsible work of the industry. As part of the strategy, four main directions are allocated: the safety and reliability of the gambling environment for use of innovation in the work, responsible control over gambling and positive influence on spanish society.
