In The Netherlands Will Increase The Tax On Gambling For Financing Student Grants

Member of the netherlands parliament rulof bishop from the reformed party (sgp) defending christian rights, made the author of the amendment that would increase taxes on gambling in the country for subsequent financial and expansion of student grants system.

The amendment was worked out in co-authorship with liza westerveld, representatives of the party «green left».

Increased tax items included in a separate amendment to the country’s tax package for 2020, which’s not yet been published. Nevertheless, the dutch newspaper devkskrant reported that the change woud lead to the fact that the tax jums up from 30.1 to 38.Five%.

Initial amendment would increase the maximum student family income threshold for grant for postgraduate education. According to estimates, the total amount of the program will reach €100 million.

The amendment states that since the introduction of a lending system, average incomes found themselves under significant pressure. Students from these families have limited right to an additional grant or do not have it at all and fully depend on the loan. In this regard, the pressure on students has increased significantly.

Sgp in his manifesto opposed gambling. Also, the party stated be outlawed and the dutch gembling industry regulator shold increase its staff to improve law enforcement powers. Indition, sgp believees that gambling shold not be advertised.

Recall, in lithuania, the gembling industry was limited in advertising rights.
