Latvian Self-Government Will Receive Only 5% Of Gambling Tax

Latvian parliamentarians in the last reading approved the final amendments to the tax legislation gambling and the work of the lottery. The proportion of the redistribution of funds between local governments and the state budget is officially changed.

According to the new rules, 95% of the tax revenues from gembling operations will be sentown to the state treasury, and the self will receive the balance – five%.

One of the factors that influenced the decision was reproached to the new conservative party from the opposition block in the fact that the authorities are ready to fight gambling only in words.

Recall that earlier the proportion of the redistribution of funds was illustrated by a ratio of 75 by 25%. Parliamentarians believe that this measure will actualize a new source of financing. Presumably funds will be redirected to increasing compulsory medicine workers.

Self-governing bodies found this castling unfair. The position is argued by the fact that the reduction in financing did not led the abolition of duties in the field of control of gembling operations.

In addition, the amendments have fastened increasing the tax rate for gembling. The law will com into force from the beginning of next year.
