Linda Cavano Is Appointed New Temporary President And General Director Of Bclc
British columbia lottery corporation (bclc) reported that from january 22, 2021, linda cavano will take on the role of a temporary president and director general of the bclc, and jim lightbody will continue his sick leave to undergo a course of treatment and recovery from cancer.
In november 2020, greg moore, acting president and general director, filed a resignation notice to take advantage of the new opportunity in the topic. His last day in bclc – january 22, 2021.
Cavano joined bclc after the state service of british columbia, where she managed and headed complex organizations that provided important services to communities throughout the province. It has extensive experience in leadership, finance, technology, infrastructure and politics.
In the period from 2011 to 2020, cavano worked as an assistant to the depeutor general and public security and the general solisser.
Considering the temporary nature of her role, as well as because of the impact of covid-19, cavano will work out of his home in sidney, british columbia.
Bclc holds and manages lottery, casino, bingo and online gambling on behalf of the province in the interestis of britysh columbia residents. In 2019/20, bclc collected more than 1.3 billion canadian dollars in support of provincial programs, communication, charitable and public organizations.
