New Rules For Regulating Gambling Come Into Force In Slovakia
Slovakian online gembling sector has become one of the most discussed topics at the government reported on intention to abandon monopolies to online games.
On tuesday, december 4, the slovakia parliament approved new rules for regulating gambling, which the ministry of finance announced this spring. If the president of slovakia approves new legislative measures, international operators will be able to apply for licenses to organize gambling.
According to the new rules, the reception of the corresponding appeals will begin on march 1, 2019, and the issuance of licenses – july 1, 2019. Applications online betting companies will be accepted from july 1, 2019, but the licenses will give the right to work only from july 1, 2020.
The cost of one license for both bookmakers and casino operators will be €3 million. At the same time, the company intereted in providing both products immediately can save €1 million, it is necessary only to report its plans to regulatory authorities.
Licensees will be valid for 10 years. Operators who want to offer both online games and service rates will receive possibility of extension for an additional period at will.
International companies that want to work on the internet will have to conclude contracts with local communication operators. Online operators undertake to pay 22% of tax from their income.
The government will create a new management of gambling regulation, which will take on the role of the supervision currently performed by the ministry of finance.
