Opening Of The Suncil Casino Project In Manila Postponed Until 2024
The subsidiary of the suncity group in the philippines, suntrust home developers inc, announced changes to the agreement signed with megawide construction corporation, which suggest that the completion of the construction of an integrated resort in the manile of the group can be postponed until early 2024.
According to the information provided by the philippine stock exchange on thursday, suntrust and megawide agreed to amend the certificates of awarding (loa) issued in november 2020, and the supplementary agreement signed in december 2020, which will provide megawide to complete its work.
Loa provides megawide two packages for the construction of the suntrust westside city resort hotel and a casino project, with a package 1, which includes a direct contract for the pile roof, earthworks and els in the amount of 2.27 billion pesos. Package 2 is the main contract for the construction site and includes the foundation of the basement, superstructure and abwf (construction works and the finishing of architectural structures) worth 4.02 billion pesos.
It was originally planned to complete the project at the end of 2023, but on thursday suntrust stated that it agreed to extend the deadline for completion of the package 2 to "no later than march 31, 2024 to provide some flexibility to the parties".
In accordance will advance megawide 700 million pesos, "this is a preliminary amount for additional architectural, structural and construction work for package 2".
Upon completion of the construction, the hotel and casinos will include a 450 hotel room with 400 casino rooms and 1200 slot machines.
