Pagcor Warns Pogo On The Observance Of Legislative Prescriptions
Filipino entertainment corporation and gambling (pagcor) warned filipino offshore gambling operators (pogo) about the need to comply with the current laws and rules. The regulator also indicated the importance of timely tax deductions.
The government of the philippines strengthened measures to control and ensure compliance with the legislative rules by gambling operators. José triya jr., special assistant chairman pagcor, said: «let it serve as a final warning for all that it is necessary to strictly follow the rules, provisions and directives of all government agencies. Pagcor continues attempts to ensure compliance with local rules.
Pagcor’s chairman explained that all representatives of the pogo must have permission to work in the country, and also pay taxes in a timely manner. José triya also added that the internal revenue bureau (bir) will take this issue under its control.
Pagcor income has grown
Within a four-month period from january to april 2019, the state corporation received gross income in the amount of €430.6 million. According to pagcor’s statement, this figure is 11.4% more than in the same period last year. The total revenue from gembling operations was 410 million, although there were no comparisons on an annualized basis for this number.
As reported, chairman of the board of directors and executive director of pagcor andrea domingo explained that the corporation will do everything possible to preserve the positive trend.
