Self-Government Requires To Keep The Existing Tax Distribution Policies From Gambling
Sejm latvia intends to introduce a new system of redistribution of taxes from gambling. It is planned to increase the amount of funds sent to the state treasury. Latvian self-government alliance prostests against such a decision.
The organization sent the official requirement of the budget commission of the sejm with a call to abandon the idea.
According to the current system, in favor of the state budget, 75% of funds from the taxation of gembling are received, and the residue receives local self-government. However, on october 30, parliamentarians voted in the first reading for amendments to the legislative norm on duties and taxes in the lottery and gembling industry. It is assumed that innovations will change the balance of the redistribution of funds of state and municipal budgets.
Parliamentarians believe that the balance must be changed in favor of the state treasury in a ratio of 90 by 10%.
In turn, representatives of the self-government do not take these conditions, considering them unfair. As the main argument, local authorities appeal to the the fact that their functional responsibilities in relation to the regulation of gambling are not reduced.
Indits suggest increasing the tax rate for gembling operations related to the gorund segment.
Recall that according to experts, the exceptional tax burden does not alloow organically to develop the vip-segment of gambling business.
