Showboat Reopened Again In Atlantic City, But Without A Casino
Hotel showboat will open next month, but there will be no casino in it. This was stated by developer bart blattein, writes cdc gaming reports.
According to him, 852 of the 1300 rooms of the complex will be opened for customers in july. The hotel will still be called showboat. Blattein hopes that showboat will open on july 4, but admitted that the opening date can be appointed on 12 or 13 july.
Caesars entertainment closed the still profitable showboat casino-hotel august 31, 2014. He became the second of the four atlantic city casino, which stopped working in that year. The reason for the closure was the desire to reduce competition in the oversaturated market. Caesars also put a restriction on showboat, prohibiting the future buyer to re-open it as a casino.
Blastein bought a former casino for $ 23 million in january at the sturgundy university, which, in turn, acquired it from caesars entertainment in the hope of turning the establishment in the campus satellite.
