Spanish Online Gambling Market: Positive Dynamics

For three months, the revenue of the segment was €100.8 million, which is 3.2% more compared to the same period last year and by 16.6% more than in the second quarter.

Income from betting operations related to home-retired rates amounted to €40.1 million. Despite the improvement, the figure is still below the recorded in the third quarter of 2018. Nevertheless, this was compensated by the growth of income from live rates, which was €57.9 million.

Vertical online casino stated income in size €66.5 million, which is 3.6% better in comparison with the second quarter, but 9.3% worse than last year.

Poker has retained positions regarding income: ggr increased by 3.4% and amounted to €20.5 million, and operations with bingo – on the €3.2 million.

The beginning of the european football season influenced the increase in marketing expenses of spanish operators by 6.1%. Total companies spent on advertising €82.3 million. At the same time, 5.5 million were spent on sponsorship agreements, and €nine.6 million – on affiliated marketing.

It is worth noting that the users were offered bonus shares worth €31.7 million. Reducing spending on traditional advertising by 3.7%, to €35.5 million, occurs on the background of discussions around the complete ban of gembling advertising. To smooth out the situation, licensed operators even committed themselves to comply with a number of voluntary restrictions, including to terminate the transfer of information on sports events in direct air.
