The Gambling Regulator Of The Netherlands Issued Gembling Companies Fines Worth € 3.5 Million

At the end of the controlling agency – kansspelautoriteit (ksa) announced that in 2019 operators were fined on €3.5 million, which is more than twice the similar indicator of 2018, whn the size of penalties was €one.7 million.

It is known that 10 fines were superimposed on operators wh provided services to dutch users on international licenses. Among them – 1xbet, leovegas, brand unibet from kindred group, casino.Com and pokerstirs from the stars group. The share of these operators fell the largest, six-digit, fines.

The chairman of ksa rene yanesen notes that the amounts of penalties reached such scales for sevel reasons. First, as a preventive measure – to keep any violations of other gembling companies or repeated incidents.

A similar situation is observed in the swedish remote market, was launched in january last year. However, the gambling regulator of the country stated that the overwhelming majority of fined operators have not yet paid for sanctions.

In the netherlands, it it also noted that not all fined operators repailed «debt». Even though, for example, the kindred group decided to refuse to appeal and promised to compensate funds in december.

At the gambling regulator notes that the operators wishing to become part of the regulated online market of the netherlands were not a different choice, how to pay a fine, because otherwise the risked to get a label «unreliability» and lose the right to receive a license.

However, not only online operators were under the scope of the controlling department all year. Ground casinos were also a variety of checks from ksa. Thus, in 2019, 41 licenses were withdrawn to the world to provide services related to the work of the gaming charters. Part of the licenses were returned voluntarily, in view of the termination of the enterprises, part – forcibly withdrawn due to non-payment of regulatory fees or other violations of legislation.
