The Government Has Postponed The Launch Of The Netherlands Market

The gambling regulator of the netherlands kansspelautoriteit (ksa) announced the information that the online gambling market will be launched on june 1, 2021 – half a year later than the previously planned.

Minister of legal protection of the netherlands sander decker said that the law led by online hembaling operations will come into force on january 1, 2021. With regard to combating illegal operators, the decker called several tools that can be used by gambling management. The procedural side of the question is still specified.

According to decker, the ban on advertising online gambling is irrational, based on the fact that this type of marketing can send users to licensed market operators. Therefore, the complete ban on advertising gembling operations will not follow, but certain restrictions during its distribution will still be introduced.

The minister added that users should be able to find the way to legal operators, and this can be done only with the help of advertising. He also noted that for online operators the opportunity to advertise its own product is hardly more important than for ground casino operators.
